The goal of NYC-SPC is to help members develop their skills while giving them an opportunity to share their work that traditionally would go underrepresented. Through our monthly critics, mentorships, workshops, gallery, and photo lab, members are provided the resources they need to advance their skills as fine art photographers.

Membership is by invitation only. We may occasional actively recruit if a current member discovers an exceptional photographer. The application process includes a portfolio review and vote by current NYC-SPC members. Benefits of being a member include:

  • Representation by NYC-SPC. This includes gallery representation as well as agency representation. Agency representation allows members to contribute to paid assignments or submit for job referrals.

  • Inclusion in group exhibitions and publications.

  • 24/7 access to our community work space and lab equipment.

  • 50% off any lab drop off service

  • Access to all events including workshops, and more

Members are encouraged to volunteer 3 hours per week to support collective initiatives. Some volunteering positions can be done remotely. Responsibility can include but not limited to gallery sitting, assisting in setup for events, graphic design, administrative duties, grant research, and more. Members can pay an annual membership due for lab access.
